Long Term Care

Long term care (LTC) insurance covers a client who requires assistance with daily living. It covers services typically not covered by health insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid, such as home care, assisted living, adult daycare, hospice care and nursing homes. Individuals who require long-term care are usually not “sick” in the typical sense. They are unable to perform two of the six activities of daily living as described by healthcare professionals: dressing, bathing, toileting, continence, getting in/out of bed, and walking. About 70% of individuals over 65 will require some type of long term care services in their lifetime, so this product is important for most clients. American Insurance Organization offers several options for LTC through various supplemental carriers.
