Rocky Mountain Health

Rocky Mountain Health Plans (not to be confused with Anthem Blue Cross’s Rocky Mountain HospitalĀ and Medical Service, Inc.) was founded by physicians and community leaders in Grand Junction, Colorado 40 years ago. Rocky Mountain Health Plans is Colorado’s largest PPO carrier, and was recently sold to UnitedHealthcare, although they will keep marketing under the RMHP name. Rocky Mountain had limited its individual and family plans to Mesa County, Colorado in 2017, but may expand now that they are part of UnitedHealthcare.

Three selling points for brokers:

  • Rocky Mountain Health Plans covers more than 300,000 individuals.
  • RMHP’s network includes almost 11,000 providers.
  • Rocky Mountain was recently acquired by UnitedHealthcare, one of the largest and most trusted health plans in the country.
