insurance company founded in 1939, Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Care Network of Michigan has risen to become the largest health insurer in Michigan. BCBS of MI serves 4.5 million people in Michigan and another 1.6 in other states. It also has the biggest network of doctors and hospitals in Michigan. There are 152 hospitals and more than 33,000 doctors in the network. They are also part of the nationwide Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.
